This is my entry for
Sensational Haiku Wednesday
Body’s warranty
Expired at forty-five
Who knows what is next
Recall the kid’s song
Head, shoulders, knees and, yes, toes
Only in reverse
But let’s add one more
Chronic degeneration
X-rayed in right hip
The doctors have said:
“Have you had an injury
That bides a new hip?
You are much too young
But rehab will be a snap
For the same reason”
Now… four months later
I can walk one point five miles
Without discomfort
I descend the stairs
Like the average person
With ease, no distress
A corporal scar
Is the only reminder
Of lost meniscus
I’m truly grateful
For doctors, surgeons, pain pills
And new lease on life

Wow amazing Haiku, I hope everything is working out!
Fabulous haiku! And congratulations to your continued healing. I found your blog through Jenn's lik up.
Wow, good for you! My little brother at 42 is in the same boat, only with the addition of a degenerated disk to complicate matters. I think he needs to push for surgery ASAP and get on with his life!
Great haiku series - well done! (and welcome aboard, too!!)
Sometimes it takes the professionals to do for us what we can't do for ourselves. Grab that new lease on life!
Excellent! May you know good health!
Awesome!! Continue to heal well!!
